About us
Health Work Wellbeing is a Government-led initiative to improve the health
and wellbeing of working age people.
Founded on a growing evidence base that working is good for health, it brings together
employers, unions and healthcare professionals in helping more people with health
conditions to find and stay in employment.
A cross-Government programme launched in 2005, we are sponsored by five Government
partners - the Department for Work and Pensions,
the Department of Health, the
Health and Safety Executive, the Scottish Executive
and the Welsh Assembly Government.
There is growing evidence that work can help to improve people's health - while being
out of work often leads to poorer general and mental health.
